God is Timeless!

I went to bed earlier this morning extremely disappointed with our nation’s presidential choice.  My heart grieved in a strange and unusual way.  I often give thought to the overwhelming changes that have occurred in this country since my grandparent’s generation but never have I been more overwhelmed than I was last night.  Never before has it been more evident of just how far we have strayed from God.  For the first time in my life I have questioned if we truly are ‘one nation under God’ any longer.  Why? Because it appears the majority has turned away from God by supporting a leader who stands for so many issues that are not in agreement with the Word and somehow believes the answer to our financial crisis is to spend us, our children, and our grandchildren into oblivion.

However, this morning I was reminded that my destiny will not be determined by a president or those who voted for him.  I don’t like where I feel this president and his supporters are leading our once, great nation but I know the One who sits on the throne and I desire His will be done, and I trust Him completely with my life. So many are dependent on government to help them or even save them, but the King of kings is the only One who can really do that.  I believe He has called us to turn to Him and instead the majority has turned away.  Some say, “Well, the times are changing”. Well, the times may change but Hebrews 13:8 tells us that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.  God NEVER changes, the Word NEVER changes, God’s principles NEVER change.  God is timeless!!!

The Word tells us in Isaiah 60:2 that darkness will cover the earth and thick darkness will be over the people after the Church is told in Isaiah 60:1 “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you”.  Now, I am not claiming to know that the beginning of the end has begun but I do know we are closer to the end than we have ever been.  I know that as a nation we are farther from God than we have ever been; God being booed at a Democratic National Convention is proof of that.  I do know that we are closer to losing so many of our freedoms, including our religious freedoms than ever before.  I know today resembles very much the description of the last days Jesus spoke of in Matthew.  The truth is I can only hope and pray that we are in the last days because I know Who wins!  I know Who will claim victory!  The victor is the one true King who gives me His peace; promises to supply my every need; promises His grace is sufficient; promises I will not be overtaken by temptation; promises victory over death; promises that all things work together for good to those who love and serve Him faithfully; promises that those who believe will be saved; and promises His people eternal life.

If you do not know Him, I would like to invite you to get to know Him.  If you do know Him and are one of His, I urge you to take watch, do not be afraid, do not be discouraged, do not be dismayed, seek Him, speak, teach, preach, testify, pray, use the gifts God has given you to glorify Him, allow His light to shine through you into a very lost and hurting world; allow Him to reveal His awesome power through each of your weaknesses. We are not insignificant beings! We are children of the Most High King!!!  Let us rise up and become the powerful servants we are called to be for His will and purpose!!!  Will you take watch with me?  Will you join me in asking God to show himself in and through you in a mighty way to reach the lost? He has the power!  He is the same yesterday, today and forever!  God is timeless!

The Pursuit of Purpose: A Journey to Forgiveness and Healing is my testimony of God's amazing love, grace and power in a surrendered life and heart. It was released on May 29, 2012. I lost my middle daughter, Heather who suffered from mental illness and addiction to an overdose in October of 2015. Since then I've dedicated my life to confronting addiction and promoting changes in North Carolina that will hopefully save lives.
