Praise Him!

“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”  John 16:33

“Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” Psalm 150:6

We all experience trials and sorrows in our lives on this earth.  I have experienced so many disappointments in myself and others.  I have been walked on, taken advantage of, hurt, let down, and broken far too many times in this life.  Because I am human, I too have inflicted many injustices on others.  But, praise the Lord!  He is my redeemer and my Savior.  He has overcome the world and through Him I can certainly overcome anything that comes my way in this life.

When we are going through difficult and painful experiences in this life we must always turn to Him and seek Him.  In the Lord, that is the only place where we may experience true peace while enduring the storms of this life.  I recently saw a comment somewhere that said, “Sometimes the Lord chooses to calm His children in the midst of the storm instead of calming the storm.”  How wonderful!  He is our peace in all things!

Far too many of us, self included, tend to walk around in the midst of storms in this life with our heads hung down saying, “What about me Lord?  When will you deliver me?  When will you do this….. for me?”  How often do we wake up in the midst of a storm in our lives or any other time for that matter and say, “Thank you Lord for loving me; Thank you  Lord for dying for me; What can I do for you today dear Lord?”

The truth is that if we were to die today, right now at this very moment, the thing that matters the most in our lives is our level of obedience in promoting and glorifying the Kingdom of God.  All things shall pass in this life even life itself.  It is our eternal lives that matter.  Therefore, I will praise the Lord in all things, especially during the storms.  Instead of asking what He can do for me each day, it is my commitment to begin each and every day asking Him, “Lord, what can I do for you today?  Show me today how you want to use me to bless someone else.”  I will praise Him in all things!
