Jump In!

Last night, I was thinking about a day that Steve, Joshua and I spent at the pool when Steve came home from Afghanistan.  I remembered how confident and brave Joshua, at two years old was around and in the pool.  We had to watch him closely because he had no fear.  He would jump off into the water without fear, without doubt, confidently trusting Steve to be there to catch him.

As I was reflecting on this memory, it occurred to me that perhaps that’s what Jesus meant when He said, “I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:3

Just as Joshua confidently trusted Steve to be there to catch him as he jumped fearlessly into the pool; our heavenly Father wants us to confidently trust Him.  He is there to catch us!  We must never let fear stand between us and fulfilling our purpose for the Father.  JUMP IN! Your Father will catch you!!

About Alecia Roberts

First and foremost, I am a Christian. I am a wife, mother, and grandmother. I wrote The Pursuit of Purpose: A Journey to Forgiveness and Healing while my husband was working overseas as a civilian contractor. The Pursuit of Purpose: A Journey to Forgiveness and Healing is my testimony of God's amazing love, grace and power in a surrendered life and heart. It was released on May 29, 2012. I lost my middle daughter, Heather who suffered from mental illness and addiction to an overdose in October of 2015. Since then I've dedicated my life to confronting addiction and promoting changes in North Carolina that will hopefully save lives.

    Well said Alecia!

I watch Taryn do the same thing with Kelly. If it is just me, I will not take her near water. She gets Kelly in the pool and you have to drag her away crying! She loves water! I never thought about it this way. You are so wise and always teach me a lesson. You are so inspiring to me. Love you dearly!
